“Our Vision of the Valley”, developed by Sheffield City Council and local community groups, sets out 12 short, long and medium term projects for the Gleadless Valley area with the intention to make it a thriving, welcoming neighbourhood once again.

The Gleadless Valley Regeneration Board meets regularly and brings together Council representatives and community leaders, working side by side to shape and deliver this ambitious plan.
Heeley Trust has advised the Regeneration board since the beginning of its formation, and many of our community activities will be affected by the regeneration. Newfield Green Library and Herdings Community Centre both sit within the Gleadless area and are the community hubs that our Gleadless based projects are based out of.
As part of the regeneration scheme, Newfield Green Library has been closed for refurbishment, and is expected to reopen early 2026. It has been a great hub of activity, supported by our library and digital volunteers, and we welcome the exciting changes that are coming to the area.
