On October 2nd, Heeley Trust had the privilege of sharing the story behind our iconic spaces during Platform Places’ visit to Sheffield. From Heeley People’s Park, to Heeley Institute, SUM Studios and our community bike shop A Different Gear. This was part of a wider 2-day effort to connect 30 peers with a shared passion for community-led regeneration.
Platform Places is a national cross-sector coalition and partner of charity Footwork Trust with a mission to unlock town centre buildings for amazing ideas that help us live affordably, sustainably and together. They bring together councils, community leaders and asset owners to build community-led local property partnerships as an alternative to the traditional town centre property model. They visited Sheffield on October 1st and 2nd, and Heeley Trust had the honour of showcasing our assets and history to a varied cross-sector group from around the country, all united under a passion for transforming the future of community asset development and funding. The attendees also included local representatives from….
